I've been having the itch to upgrade from a 75g to a 120, so when i found a Reef Ready tank on craigslist I jumped. But wow, it was on the third floor of an apartment building! I don't even know how they got it up there :o

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you're ever intending to move a 120g it's a lot of work.

Agreed, they are a beast. Just look at it this way, at least it wasn't a 180 gallon. :D

About 10 years ago I bought a 210 tank out of the newspaper for $100 the guy said it just needed to be revealed. I had never picked any thing more then a 90g before. I asked him if I should bring some one to help. He said no we can get it. We hauled that sucker from his garage to the back of my f150 truck. Man that was a back breaker.

agreed. Atmercure and I moved both of our 210's multiple times just the two of us... I hate to say it but my 120 seems easy now!

Moved my 6' 125 by myself. OK so I had an 8' x 3' table on casters that I rolled out to my truck and slid it from the bed to the table but..... Hehehehe

Cheater. :lol2:

I put the 210 on a wooden moving dolly when I got it home. Later traded it for a stand up jetski. Yeah the 120 def felt easy after the 210. Man that glass was thick.

rich I moved a 265 by myself but I borrowed a cart that had a hydraulic lift on it that would lift up to 4' that thing was worth it's weight in ......... Lets say copper because gold is just off the chain

Now that is cheating!!!! LOL. Mine was just an old solid core wood door that I turned into an out feed table for my table saw. Just happens to be the same height as a truck bed. :-).

I asked him how he got it up 3 flights of stairs, and he said that he walked in one day and it was just there

You beat me to that one - I was supposed to pick-up a 120g yesterday from craigslist, out in Kennesaw. Half-way there he sends me a message to tell me he just sold it. What??? I live an hour away

Oh well - if this is the one, at least I didn't have to worry about the stairs :-)
Congrats!

it's all relative. It's quite easy to move a 120 with 2 people after you have moved a 300 with 4 and no suction cups!

Just moved a 120 G down 1 flight of stairs. The suction cups made it much easier.

that's why the first floor is a aquarium keepers best friend ;) I've moved a 55g, 75g and 125g multiple times and I can assure you it doesn't get any easier lol

Me and my wife moved a 120 i didnt think it was all that heavy, but i can see where 3 flights of stairs would add to the difficulty.Ive also moved a 210 with 3/4" glass and a mirror glued to the back wall, whole different ballgame.Thought my elbows were going to seperate that thing was so heavy.

Didn't even think about suction cups!
