Well, I'm going to do my own thing. However I don't want to put a animal in a tank that needs more space than what I have, that would do more harm than good.
you did right, you wanted a yellow tang but before you did you asked and got different perspectives, You educated yourself that all we ask. Good luck which ever way you decide.
If you qt and train them on certain foods and have a regular feeding schedule or an auto feeder for them then most likely no.
If you want to just toss one in the tank then roll the dice.
If you are looking for simply color and movement then look into wrasses as well.
For hair algae I would stick with the cleanup crew and great water quality via great skimmer and water quality
If you are really interested in a dwarf angel you could always purchase one from someone who has had the fish in a reef with no problems. This would not guarantee the angel wouldn't eat your inverts but it could indicate a better chance of success.
I had a lemon Angel a long time ago in my JBJ when I started my first tank. He never nipped at any corals but I think I just got lucky. This is way before I had joined the ARC, since then I've learned a lot about what I can have in a reef and what I cannot.
