You know, that thing you've been doing with your tank of which you're not sure if it's ok or if it's a recipe for disaster. You've been wanting to ask but you didn't want to deal with the possibly mean comments. Ask away.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD IS TO GET PRODUCTIVE AND TACTFUL CRITICISM
So it goes without saying no:yuk::mad2::bash::argue:

If been there done that or if you've read something please respond to the other member's post with your input in a nice way.

If you're too awesome for our stupidity please roll your eyes and keep your comment to yourself.

Edit: I'm first since it was my idea. Sometimes when I do a water change, I wait for the gunk to settle and put the water back in the tank leaving the gunk out. I do like 20 gallons this way and then do an ordinary water change of 15gal.

No you use urine not crap! LOL My worst move, I brought home a very cool Chocolate Chip Starfish. Thank goodness the LFS took it back the next day when I learned they were not reef safe.

Use report button and in message box ask mod to do it for you. Triangle with "!" In center, lower left on first post.

I've been adding 1-2mL of melafix daily. The skimmer seems to go into over drive and pull out more junk, the pH goes up, and the corals seem to open up a little more and grow a little faster.

Yup. He said that all that was needed was some ammonia, and urine had ammonia in it. I guarantee my urine has allot more than ammonia in it. It would've been a vodka dose combined with a cycle. LOL!!!

Lol just remind us not to ever put our hands in your tank and to triple dip any frags we get from ya

LOL. I didn't do it. It made some sense, but, that was just too weird for me. After taking all of the time to pick up SW from the LFS (didn't have my RO/DI at that time), and siphon it from multitudes of 5 gallon buckets into my tank with hundreds of dollars of LR, the last thing I wanted to do was pee into all of that. I know the fish and CUC dump in it, but, it was made for them. I have toilets and a backyard for that.

Joking on the backyard.....

or

Am I???

With all this potty talk, I figured I should share my "day's" story.

Anyone ever heard: "if you get stung by a sea urchin, pee on it" ?

So this morning, I was messing around in a tank that has a fire urchin in it. I wasn't really paying attention where the urchin was, and bam! I nailed it.

Ultimately, this resulted in me peeing on my finger....

So the big question, did it work? Second question... Was it bigger than your finger? LOL

Edit: Oh come on, I was talking about the urnchin!!!

Yes. It worked... I guess. The urchin was pretty big. My finger swelled, hand went kinda numb, I felt a bit sick, and then I peed on it and got back to normal shorty after. I think the anticipation of the unknown was worse than any of the side effects.

If his neighbors hate him 'cause the grass is greener on the other side, he can volunteer to do yardwork for them lmbo:tongue:
