I've had this 20g long tank for about 1.5yrs and still have dead spots no matter where i point my powerheads i have two nano koralia's on opposite sides - Ive rearrange my rock again recently and still no real difference... Any tips? Im considering getting the Koralia wave maker thinking that that will create the flow to maximize the natural filtration.. Any ideas, info or advice would be wonderful :)

I use 2 jebao RW-4's on my 20 gallon. They give me plenty of flow. Upgrading to stronger power heads may help.

The wave maker may help also, as alternating the use of one power head should create a gyre-like effect if the cycles are long enough.

+1, alternating the power heads would make the water a little turbulent thus eliminating any dead spots you might have.

if your using the hydor 225 or 425, they just don't have any real good flow power, I would up grade those too.

Agree with above comments, Korilia nanos just don't put out much flow. I recently upgraded to Jeabo RW's and its a world of difference.

Thanks guys! Yeah I'm actually running one 225 and one 425 so it all makes sense now... Do you think one Jeabo Rw would work or would I need two? Maybe get one and put the 425 on a coordinating schedule using a regular timer? I don't have the cash to get both right now but the wave maker and the jeabo are pretty much the same price so i would have to choose one

One could do the job, I would go with the RW-8, you can turn it down fro the 20L but you can use it in a larger tank as you upgrade also. Search youtube for some videos on how this works with just one pump, pretty impressive.

Ok so I'm sold on the jebao def seems like the better option but after watching a few youtube vids I'm worried about my auto top off I don't have a sump so the sensor is in the tank!

I have the RW 8's also, and I couldn't use them in my 20 gallon using the else mode because the flow was too strong.

I seemed to be limited to pulse mode when I had the rw8 in the tank.

Just my experience.

yeah I think I'm gonna start with one 4 and go from there now I just have to figure out this ato issue!

Update for anyone interested - I picked up the rw-4 and its amazing! on the other side I've taken my koralia 425 and modded the face plate by taking out a every other tine and I'm getting a lot more flow - I've set the 425 on a timer for 15 on off during the day and the combo is really creating a lot of nice movement - I've changed my filter floss daily from everything its helping to filter! Thanks for all yall's help!
