Anyone have a 3-D printer?

Just this with PETG. I tend to just jump in and sink or swim. Haha I’ll take a look at benchy once the kids go to bed. Thanks for the tip.
Anytime. Work on getting a good benchy and you will be going well! This is my current setup but need to work on the Prusas extruder and get started with resin. Plus finish building the other two Prusas (they will go in this setup with acrylic-resin elsewhere). Not enough time.

You are definitely going in the right direction. PETG also needs more gap between the nozzle and bed. I use 0.03mm

First pass at Benchy. Tips on how to reduce the stringyness and what this imperfections mean? Or just suggestions based on the result?

What are your extrusion temperature and speed settings? Is it a Bowden extruder or direct? If using retraction, slow down the speed of the retractions. PETG usually needs to print at a slower speed than PLA also, but I'm not sure that's where the problem is right now. It looks like the temperature is too high.

my next attempt would be (but I'm certainly an absolute amateur)......

Little higher on bed temp (you still have some lifting it looks like), little lower on extruder temp (stringing), slow the first 3 layers down by 50% (they may be cooling too fast), slow the rest down by at least 10%, reduce the layering to be less distance (PETG likes to be squished a little if I remember correctly)

My brother has 2 ender 3 pros and loves them. He prints ABS and petg with awesome results. We built an enclosure out of scrap acrylic and scrap wood I had laying around the garage. He let me borrow one to test while I search for one that I would like.

I wanted to try something small to test the PETG. I printed this Harry Potter symbol for my wife. It only took 27 mins and the inside circle spins.

I don't have a stainless steel extruder tip yet so I haven't printed anything for the reef tank yet.
I'll have to print a benchy to see how it compares.

I just bring it out of a closet when I want to print. No enclosure.

After getting a fairly good benchy I thought I was ready for a 10 hour print.

I was wrong. This is supposed to be a pen holder. I think the problem was with the design. The arms did not have any supports underneath.

In your slicer make sure to add supports. Welcome to spaghetti junction on your 3d printer. :)

Yes, I can do that. Send me a private message and we can work out the details.
