Ok, so I have been trying to get the apex system back online after having internet and power issues. It is "on" and controlling things, but its not correct anymore. Lights go off periodically, etc.. I can't pull it up on my computer by typing apex in the browser like I could before.

What is the easiest way to get to program it on comp?

If you have the CD, there is a .exe file that will find any Apex units on your local network.

If not, and you can't find it online, could you just brute force it? Try connecting to 192.168.1.1, then .2, then .3, etc.?

try to resync the wireless bridge and the router together

also smell the aquacontroller to see if it smells fried. during lightning storms the capacitor can overheat and fall off the board. happened to me and is not covered under warranty.

i could see the screen too. but there was a bad lag. my problem was more common than i thought. neptunes solution was for me to buy a couple hundred dollar surge suppressor and an extra aquacontroller

Sounds like your power issues wiped out your Apex network properties and time in your Apex. You'll need to use your Apex display and set the proper time and time zone and set all your network settings back up.

i tried several of the "ports" when I was brute forcing. tried the 40 and 80. Also I think the 35 is pretty common.. nothing.

The actual time of day is correct on controller, as well as date. I have even got some email notifacations from it, but can't see it on the comp! argh..

It's always on Port 80 because that's the default web server port. What you're trying to find is the IP address it's on.

And yes, waaaaaay</em> easier to configure from the computer :)

HTTP is port 80 and that's the default. Some ISP's block port 80 inbound traffic so unless you changed it it's port 80. Go through your APEX display and look to see what the network setting are. If they've changed you'll never get into the apex.

Go to your PC and try pinging 192.168.1.72. If you get a response then "Go to your browser and type http:// 192.168.1.72:80"

To ping from your PC go to Run and type CMD and a dos prompt will appear. Issue the ping cmd from there

Are you at home on the same network as the Apex? If so, what happens when you type
a> into the address bar of your web browser

Can you access it over your phone, iPad, or anything? If you can, the issue is with your computer. If not, you may need to dial into your router and re-configure it...

If you have tried everything else and nothing works, try this:

Unplugging the main unit and then unplug the the display. Then plug the main unit back in wait for a couple of minutes before plugging the display in.

I had a power outage and it locked the controller (I would still turn things on/off with original programming, I couldn't change anything). I called support and they had me do this... it fixed it. I don't know if you have the same problems as I did.

would i type the same "address" in the phone browser as i did the laptop? I used to have the dyndns thing so i could see/moniter it over the phone, but that stopped working a loooong time ago. I think it expired or something?

As long as you have the apex app on your phone, it's not too hard. Just a heads up though...
You are going to need to know your SSID and WAN host. It can be found in your router configurations.

What kind of phone do you have?
