I have a combination of 4-5 Peppermint shrimp and a copperband and that did it for me. With that said I'll probably have to relocate some of my acans that the fish finds really tasty so try the many shrimp route first and see if that works.
...and be sure to verify that they are peppermint and not camelback. Big hint here. As far as I know, I've only got one and he took out the entire aiptaisia infestation and keeps those boogers away. I started with three... I don't think the other two acclimated well enough (or maybe I'm just seeing them one at a time)
Kleini or Klein's butterfly fish will DECIMATE Aiptasia as well. Not as pretty but inexpensive. I had a 300 gallon Rubbermaid that was overrun completely. Were talking a sea of oral discs the size of a quarter... No biggie for my fish only system, but out of control none-the-less. Unfortunately, after a job well done, it passed because all at would eat was Aiptasia.
Maybe you will have better luck with them.
Just my 2 cents
Most Copperbands will wipe them out.
Unfortunately his tankmates in your tank will be the real challenge.
If you were starting from scratch with that stocking scheme, the copperband would probably be first. To put him in a tank with established tangs may not go well.
Just something to think about.
Maybe some others here can provide some tips to help with your success.
