Bills Crystal Dynamic Aquarium 225 gal tank upgrade

I meant to say something a while back whenever you were posting about your plumbing. I showed it to my girlfriend to give her an example of what good plumbing looks like 😂 your tank is coming together fantastic Bill, and great choice of fish. I can’t wait to move into a house where I can have a project like that!
My favorite part has to be your rock work. Is there a name for the pieces that are flat and wide like that? I always have trouble with my pieces not wanting to sit just how I want, and those look much easier to work with. Overall amazing job man 👍👍👍

Thank you!!!

Its all Marco rock. I used seven Marco Base rock pieces, and everything else is Marco Shelf rock.

Here is the latest picture, their are a few pieces of live rock that I haven't moved back to the sump yet. Trying to decide if I want to put a WWC Grafted Monti cap in or not.

The red circles are rock that will go back into the sump, the yellow I may move to the left or put in the sump.

Please excuse the cabling, I haven't tied them back yet to hide them.

Just placed an order at Reefcleaners for 30 Dwarf Cerith snails, 3 Emerald crabs, 10 Florida Cerith snails, and 15 small Trochus snails. If they get in the others I wanted then I will add then to the order as I will not get them until after Reefapolooza. The downsize to a bigger tank is the fact that you have to order more to fill it up, LOL!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

PLUS...I will likely get an order from TSM Aquatics Friday. It will be 2 of many orders for QT'd fish. This order will consist of a Eightline Flacher wrasse, Yellow Flanked Fairy wrasse, Pintail Fairy wrasse, Divided(Blue Star) Leopard wrasse, and 4 Cleaner shrimp.

So these are already QT for you before you get?

Yes, you pay a little more, but they have already been thru a 30 day copper regiment and a prazi dose as well. Having done my own QT'ing and having loss, letting them take the loss is worth the small added price.;)

The fish are in 1.026 salinity, so all you have to do is float and release.

I received my custom top from Octo Aquatics today and I have to say it fit perfectly. I didn't want to install a cheap looking screen top on a beautiful looking tank. It was worth the money spent, especially with a order of 4 wrasses showing up at my doorstep this Friday. If you want a great custom look to your top, give Octo Aquatics a try. ;)

I just received my first shipment from Tsm aquatics today. I was supposed to get 4 wrasses and 4 Cleaner shrimp, but only 3 wrasses were shipped, but its due to the high quality of customer service from Tsm aquatics. I will explain why I didn't get the 4th later. So far I am extremely impressed with Tsm aquatics. I will make a detailed post later after I finish floating and releasing the fish and shrimp.

First impression of the fish though are that they are very active in the bag.:D:D:D

K, here is my right up and experience with @tsmaquatics. I initially saw the weight of the package and was surprised. With only 3 fish and 4 shrimp, it weighed 45 pounds. Then when I received the package and saw the size of the box I was even more surprised. You would think I order a big Yeti cooler or something, lol. I opened it up and it was packaged good, but more importantly, the bags in which the fish and shrimp were in were massive. @tsmaquatics apparently didn't care about the shipping cost they would have to absorb with the extra weight, they though about the safety of the fish. When it was all said and done, I dumped almost 5 gals of water in the 7 packages that were in the box. How often have we received packages, and the bags that the fish were in only had a couple of inches of water in it.

I started to pull out the bags and the first thing I noticed was the activity of the fish in the bags. Again, how often have we received fish or invertebrates and they were hudled in the corner of the bag, or swimming upside-down. These fish were clearly health and no were near as stressed as I am used to dealing with. After temp acclimating I released all the fish and invertebrates and they immediately started to swim around. The biggest surprise was my Divided Leopard wrasse. It didn't dive for the sand, it immediately started looking and feeding on pods. 2 hours later and it is still doing the same.

I said I would explain why I only received 3, and 4 wrasse and it was because of the top notch customer service of @tsmaquatics. Tsm called me personally yesterday to talk about the delivery. They do a day before shipping check on the fish, and they told me that they had discovered a injury on the Eightline Flasher wrasse that was likely old, but had healed over and it created some imperfections that would be less than a perfect wrasse. This is were I say that @tsmaquatics customer service is above any others. Most vendors would not, or couldn't care less, and would have shipped it anyway. No, they said that they would prefer not shipping a less than perfect fish and that they had some more going thru QT at this time and would be more than happy to ship it with my next order that I currently have. That tells me they care more about quality than quantity.

Here are some quick down and dirty pics of the wrasses. Trying to have them gold still is almost amusing, LOL!!!

WELL, I am no longer thinking, I am switching to GHL!!! I can't bad mouth Neptune Apex, I have not had any real big issues, its just to many small issues that caused me to switch. I had an issue with the Cor 20 and the flow amount and the textbook response from Neptune...You need to upsize your plumbing. I am in the select few that can upsize to a point, the problem I had is how many other reefers can...HMMM!!! Lets say that I did upsize the plumbing and it still didn't work, then what.

I also had a problem with the flow meters and the constant need to clean the impellers to keep them working properly. Sounds like a whole ton of extra work on a system that already needs a lot of maintenance.

The final straw to push me to GHL was the Trident. I am not confident in the readings. I constantly get different measurements from the Trident to my Hanna checkers. I am also tired of constantly seeing the drift of the Cal and Mag as the reagents get lower and the head pressure of the reagents get lower. I need consistency in my dream tank. I asked a friend, who will not be named, so please don't ask, is it worth $4000 dollars, and without hesitation, this person said YES.

So I reached out to GHL and I will be switching. I am good with computers, but no were near as some. It will be a down and dirty switch.

I will be asking a few friends that are far smarted then myself in programming questions, but, I need stability in my readings, thus the switch.

I already have a GHL ProfiLux Mega set, KH Director w/slave doser, and a IOND w/slave doser coming along with several other items.
