Bills Crystal Dynamic Aquarium 225 gal tank upgrade

I should have cleaned the glass before taking the photos, BUT, the wrasse still look great. The photos are of a Eightline Flasher Wrasse and a Orangeback Fairy wrasse.

Yes, I am also dealing with Cyano, so please don't judge, lol!

Some pictures of my new fish. Tangs are still bickering a little, but has settled down for the most part.

About to feed the fish. Dropping 4 cube of Hikari in the tank makes it look like its snowing for a few minutes...LOL!!!

I added 4 1/4 sheets of Nori this morning on 4 clips, and now I will feed 1 cube Hikari Mysis, 2 cubes Sprulina brine, and 1 cube Mega Marine Algae.

I love the eight line flasher! One of my favorite fish. I had a female that didn’t make it through QT a few years back.

I come home from work yesterday and I find bubbles in my tank. Usually this means that my return section in my has low ater level. I checked and sure enough, so I check my ATK and find the pump not working. I checked the FMM module and it is sending 24 vdc to the pump. The PMUP v2 pump is only 5 months wet, UGH!!! I will have to buy a new pump to replace the bad one.

ATK from Neptune is garbage. I would never trust them on my systems again. There are some really good ones out there, Tunze has been working perfectly for 10+ years, never 1 issue, I would suggest looking into one, it can save you a LOT of money and not break the bank buying one!

I had a Tunze 3155 on my last tank and never had an issue with it, I may go back to the Tunze, we will see.

I hooked up my Pentair UV sterilizer a few days ago. I just did a quick install, so I am not really worried about how it looks currently. Between the GHL conversion and this, my tank is looking a little rough on the outside, LOL!!!
This is one step I am taking when combating Dino's.

I do have to admit though...Doesn't the new Pentair UV sterilizer look AWESOME in front of the new GHL cabinet. ;) :p

I hooked up the GHL flow sensor to the UV sterilizer yesterday, and after programming, I am seeing what I thought I would see. I am seeing 700 gph thru the UV sterilizer. I need 950, but, hopefully I will have a Ecotech L2 shortly and move a Cor 20 to the UV sterilizer to gain the needed flow. I currently have a Sicce 4.0 pump on the UV sterilizer, and with any restrictions, I have to admit, it is doing a very good job very well to push 700 gph thru several ft of tubing, a flow sensor, and a UV sterilizer. The Sicce 4.0 is only rated for 950 gph.

Wow, how'd you do that? Must have feed them ;)
LOL, trust me when I say that if I feed them you will not see them. I am dumping 5 cubes of frozen to try and raise my N03 and P04. The fish love it, BUT, it looks like its snowing for a minute or so...LOL!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I think I found the problem with my Neptune Apex ATK...AND...its the one thing Neptune brags about, LOL!!! They brag about having triple redundancy with the ATK, and yet, it was the 3rd redundancy that failed me and cost me a PMUP. For whatever reason, the float switch stopped flowing and it caused the PMUP to go bad as it deadheaded, aka blocked it. I noticed this because I was seeing my flow sensor drop and my ATO pump to stay on. I have seen this before and it usually means that my return pump section is low on water. I got home and guess what, it was low. I started to test the new PMUP that I installed a few days ago and it wasn't working. I thought, no way can a brand new Neptune PMUP go bad. I disconnected the tubing from the ATK flow mount and turned it on, and guess what, it worked again...HMMM!!! I flushed out the flow mount and re-attached the tubing and it worked again. I will buy a Tunze 3155 again and get rid of the ATK as it is riddled with problems. I never had an issue with my Tunze.

Depending on age, you can put a ticket in and get Neptune to replace. Maybe BRS will provide better service now that they are one company. I had an ATK fail and Neptune was responsive and replaced at no charge.

I just ordered a Gryphon XL Band saw...LOL!!! I will need to shortly frag my BSA TaTa twister Blastos and I didn't feel safe doing it with a Dremel. I also need to frag my suffering TSA Black Panther torch, so the cost is worth the means. My TSA Black Widow blastos and WWC Rainbow Blastos are growing at a fast rate, and will likely need to be fragged as well. I have no issue spending the money to make sure the frags will survive. My BSA TaTa Twister blastos are on a 3 in disk, and pretty much have covered it, thus the urgency, I will place the TSA Black widow blastos and the WWC Rainbow blastos on a 3 in disk as well to allow them to grow off the frag plug to make it easier to frag. I will likely do that tomorrow.

Your tank is really coming along! For a long time, I didn't want to spend the money on a Gryphon XL, but I was willing to spend $300-400 on corals from time to time. Once I started into the torches, I finally bought my aquasaw in June and I love it, it's easy enough to setup and clean that I can get it out just to cut a few corals and not feel like I have to set aside a lot of time at once for fragging. I've only gone as far as the GHL mini's for my tanks which I am very happy with, but I've been looking at the GHL Director to dose Kalkwasser as needed to supplement my calcium reactor. I'll definitely be following along.
