Brandon and Connies Peninsula build... maybe overkill

Lol funny you say so... we've ready been looking at ways to change the kitchen cabinets color. Theres so much going on in and outside the house which makes this build a slow one
Haha that's awesome, it's definitely something my wife would say as well. Good luck on all your housework! Time consuming for sure.

And the tank is ready for rock and plumbing

Ok little update. Got the rock done, rinsing the sand now, finished the shiplap somewhat. Still need to get the last bit of trim hung and crownmoulding done. Then paint, cut in the doors and trim them out. Build lighting rack on linear actuators, test exhaust fans to exterior of house, build sump, do plumbing..... geeze is this ever going to get done!

Looks great so far!

Just seeing this forum for the first time; your new tank is the same dimensions I have planned for my peninsula build once my wife and I purchase our first home. Can’t wait to see the final product completely stocked!

Also; I’m interested to see how you like the acrylic on such a large tank. I go back and forth on the subject; but lean towards glass (despite the thickness, weight, and expense).

How high off the ground is your aquarium base? And what is your planned timeframe to begin stocking?

The tank is 40" off the ground. I've got no real time frame, we've already got tanks running so I'm not rushing it. This is probably our 20th tank upgrade. As far as acrylic vs glass idk, this is only our 2nd acrylic tank, but first this large

Looks promising! Have you finished it yet?
Finished what? Tank is doing a sumpless cycle while plumbing parts come in and waiting on the light rack to be tigged. I've not finished the trim work just yet, still only able to do little on the weekends. Just too busy during the week
