while putting in an evasive maintenance schedule of large weekly water changes, weekly gfo & carbon changes, install Seachem Matrix, lol......

I would:

try Algae-fix

large twice a week water changes and get mag down so you CAN start using tech m

Jeff that is absolutely crazy. I'm sorry to hear that :(

I think my main problem in the battle was trying to use continuum instead of seeking out Tech M. They obviously do NOT work the same.

It is SLOWLY starting to wilt in many spots, but probably 70% is still going strong. I'm up around 2000 with my MG with no ill effects to inhabitants. I may go 100pts higher, but not much more than that.

Somewhat afraid to use the algae-fix while my mg is this high. Not that it's going to make a difference, but I speculate that it may cause stress to some inhabitants.

I have used algae-fix in the past with great success, but it took a LOT of time. Like 2-3 months of regular use, not the 5-10 days like the bottle says. Problem with it, it killed most of my CUC and wiped out my chaeto and in-turn most of my pod population.

I just have to continue being diligent to win this...

This is a product that brightwell's made. They claim that it works just like tech m

I doubt it. Unless its hot heavy metals in it too (which the ingredients don't list)

I haven't used it, so I have no skin in that game.

What I do have, is the most awesome tang ever! I have no doubt in my mind that if he was presented with bryopsis, he'd eat it. I actually bought it from y'all about a year ago.

I love the way they avoid mentioning this as being effective against Bryopsis, because if they did they'd be claiming algaecidal properties, and that's a whole other legal can of worms. Calling it "certain situations" instead of Bryopsis...funny.

very cryptic indeed....

I'm thinking that the brightwell guy used to be the kent guy and is using the same formula?
(or he infiltrated......fish spy)

Back to the H202. I've dipped a frag plugs and 2 days later is was gone. Pulled a out a small piece of LR and with a syringe squirted the bryopsis down with H202 being care full not to get any on the Boo Berry acro. It's now gone. Dropped the water level down this evening to get access to other small patches and squirted them down and refilled the tank. We'll see how that does.

H202 will kill pods hiding in the bryopsis.

No idea about that product...

But yes, Chris Brightwell worked for Kent Marine back in the day.

Then he left there and came up with his own product line (assume whatever you will - I don't know how similar they might be).

Then Jack Kent came out with Continuum recently.

At least for a short time about 6 months ago, they shared an outside sales rep. Not sure about now, haven't seen a rep for either company in about 5 months.

No other signs of bryopsis so far....knock on wood!

I think for out of tank elimination, bleach works the best and the fastest if you can do it. My situation was perfect for bleach, as I could dip the entire base, then rinse off and place back in the tank in just a few seconds.

I tried the H2O2 on my MP60 wetsides, and it works very well. Only downside is you cannot buy a big container. I've only seen quart size H2O2 containers. A gallon size would be nice.

Lol check your link!

Check what?

First item is 1 gal, yes 4 quart bottles in the case.
Second is a 1 gal bottle.

Either way, you're getting a gallon.

I keep getting directed to this page.

weird.... I'm on a laptop so I'm not sure if it's a mobile browser thing. But regardless, go to amazon and search "Peroxide 1 gallon" and you get results.

Thanks for the link Jeff. Never thought of buying it over the net. I got what I have now at the local drug store.
