so... buyer beware!!!

Red Sea has a disclaimer right on their site, that I never knew, cause all other items I ever purchased, the warranty goes with the item as long as you can provide proof of purchase. Well, Red Sea is not the case. Their warranty applies only to the original purchaser. So, I'm out several hundred dollars on a replacement tank but the new tank will come with full warranty. 2 on the glass and 3 on the seals.

As much as it frustrates me and makes me sick, they are just adhering to their policy. However, they were very responsive to the matter and going to try to get out one of the door tomorrow to get to me asap.

so beware of buying any Red Sea tank second hand and understand that it doesn't matter the age of the tank, nor if you have the proof of purchase.

sorry for the grief
Thanks man. It just really sucks. New tank itself was one thing but the shipping was more than half the replacement tank cost.

What's really disappointing is how Red Sea have a history of tank seems failing and I have all the proof of purchase and tank is not even 2 years old with this issue and they fail to even make any exception to their policy. When I purchased the tank, I did not read the fine print that the warranty was only extended to the original purchaser. I assumed since I had the proof of purchase and it as well within warranty, no issues. Wrong!

Tank delivered and installed... just gut wrenching having to buy a new tank. Dang shipping cost was disgusting.
Whats done is done and at least I have a 3 year warranty now.

So glad to get the dang frag racks out of my tank.
Now I have to figure out how to catch my eel. Doing aiptasia x every week is becoming annoying. So once I move him to the other tank, I plan to toss a bunch of peppermints in there and when they’re done, the eel can go back in and have at it again.

lol

As long as 1) it lives and 2) you love it, you can justify any coral purchase. At least thats what I tell myself, lol.

I did the same with my frag tank half rock and half frag rack. I've read that frags generally grow better on rock work than frag racks, but who knows. Plus I like fish and they seem more at ease with the rock work in there.
