That's a really beautiful tank and a great viewing location! Looks like a ton of SPS in there, any estimate on how many types you have growing out currently?

Wow, that's a lot of acropora! I love how you've mixed all the colors together so well. Was this SPS dominate tank something you tried later or are you one of those with a blue thumb that managed it as a first try? I've read that a full SPS reef can really be a PITA. Congrats either way on your mastery of reefing.

3rd tank. 1st was a 65g, went really well. The upgraded to a 150g and had a lot of failures that I learned from. Then moved and had to do restart due to losing everything during the move, so I restarted with this 100g.

It is stunning! I to will only have a tank if it is in a good location. One by the side of my bed very close to my face so I can lay and look at the very small details and the other in the livingroom right next to the couch so we can just sit and enjoy. Your tank is just beautiful!

Love urchins. I always have a pincushin in all my reef tanks. I have nanos, so when they start to get big I trade them out at the LFS for smaller ones. They really do help keep a tank very clean of stuff like that. Thats a pretty one!

I have had a few people over and post on another forum on how do I keep my water so clean.

I buy the pinky filter rolls from ebay for $13 for a 10’ roll, cut them into 6”x4” pads using a paper cutter I got from goodwill for $2, and stick into my filter media holder. I replace them once a week.

I also run the cheap Black Diamond Carbon from Marineland from Amazon. I tried BRS Rox once and I had RTN on some corals in the past (assuming it stripped the water column too fast).

How I determine when I need fresh carbon is by having my lights off in the morning with natural daylight and if the stair rails on the other side isn’t white, it needs fresh carbon.

Slowly winning the fight against turf algae thanks to 14 emerald crabs and weekly harvesting it. Going to have to rehome some of them though.

Picked up a forest fire digitata, setosa, and rainbow stylo. I’m now completely full.. I think.
