picked up some today. the instruction say to agitate the water or aid a air atone. is the water going through the HOB overflow and remote sump and then sump enough. i dont have an air pump and stone. just checking before i use it.

I've used Chemi-Clean before and everything I read said to be sure to add an air stone to aerate the water so that is what I have done in the past. Maybe you could pick up a cheap one at the local WM?

Also, be sure to turn off your Skimmer and GFO if you are running either one of those.

I Chemi-Cleaned my 6 g Fluval Edge, twice, with great results and didn't use an airstone (can't with these tanks).

I think you'll be fine, IMHO

The most important thing is DO NOT OVERDOSE and do the water change 48hrs later.

that is what i was thinking. as i do have air tumbling in both sumps. but with the new set up and the bean animal it wont have the noise and air. so i might just get a cheap one now for the future anyway. jdk yet

Are you guys talking about the chemi-clean that comes in a bag? I just threw it in my sump, and I didn't notice instructions about an air pump.... maybe I missed it.

I think chemi-clean also make a version of the red slime remover which has similar instructions. Is this what you're talking about?

Edit: I've used the red slime remover without an air stone. I just made sure my water surface was churning by pointing power heads up.
