Why are you using them? Have you tested low calcium levels?
If you don't want to be helpful, perhaps you should not comment. There are many in this club that are new to the hobby, experts, young in age and old, but we should all have courtesy in common.

1. Go slow! Increase levels slowly overtime to abound shocking livestock. Big swings are never good.
2. Keep testing. Every tank is different so even though the bottle says a certain dosage will raise it to a certain level you may find your tank responds differently.
3. Make sure to keep things in balance. With Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium keeping a balance is very important. If you get out of balance you may find that no matter how much you dose one item the levels never come up.

+1 its always important to keep things balanced!!! but also dont forget about keeping your tank stable. and by that i mean dont go chasing numbers. if people say your tank ph should be at 8.4 but its sitting at 8.1 and has been that way for a long time then dont worry about it andd the same goes for everything else like alkilinity, calcium, magnesium and what have you. because you can cause your tank to have lots of fluctuations in parameters which like rich said is not good. but if something is way off like ph being 7.4 then you need to work on the problem.
Edit: oh and also do a couple waterchanges. A waterchange can go a long way towards fixing parameter issues

I'm sorry that you feel I am not having courtesy. But the fact remains that every day people post threads that are not necessary when there is a "search" function that this forum offers. Instead they post a useless thread instead of doing their own research. I mean I'm not out of line when I said "read the directions on the bottle", as that is exactly how they are intended to be used and tell you exactly what to do. Yet a thread was created for such a meaningless question. Maybe it is just me but all these "new" people want the answer but don't want to find it themselves or understand how to get to the answer.
MOST questions that people "today" have, have been answered at some point. If everybody just used the search function, there would be no new discussions, since it has already been done.
Cut the guy some slack.
This is coming from someone who answers the same questions, over and over, every day - me.
A new thread with a familiar discussion gives newer readers a chance to see an answer without pouring over archives, and gets people interacting with one another.

Just to give a little technical background-
Reef complete is a calcium chloride based supplement. It's often used in conjunction with sodium (bi)carbonate to maintain an ionic balance between alk and calcium.
Reef calcium is calcium gluconate. The gluconate is a form of sugar(cabon) and should only be used in small doses.
To raise ca- I'd use the reef complete. If you are just a little off, and want to give your tank a boost in carbon, the reef calcium can be used.
Reef plus is very similar to fuel. It has organic carbon and amino acids in it- coral food.

I'm sorry but your in a different position than I am. You are a sponsor and just as you said it annoys you to have to answer the same question over and over. However, you are a sponsor and have to bite your tongue, more or less. I as memeber to do not. This "new" group of members have become very lazy and are really doing things wrong. Take the member who got a cat shark and put him in a 93g cube... Had he done research he would have known the shark would quickly out grow the tank. Same in this situation. The memeber is asking how to use chemicals when the directions are printed on the bottle. How does him starting this thread help any other members as I am sure any and everyone else would be able to just simply read the directions given by the manufacture.

I don't think the member that put the shark in the cube would have changed his descision, even if he had researched the animal.
Actually, I think he did research the animal, and still made that choice. A week prior to posting that he had a cat shark, he was asking if they could get ick- indicating some research had been done. Some folks just do what they want to do, regardless of advice.

Never said I was annoyed. It's a large part of my livelihood -- one I chose. Just pointing out that I was not annoyed by the thread.
We were ALL new to the hobby at some point in time.
And as some have pointed out - yes, there are directions on the bottles but since no two tanks are the same, they've given some pointers on how to fine-tune the dosing, and that's valid good advice, and IMO, worthy of discussion.
Could it have been found by searching? Sure. That doesn't mean that OP might not have had more questions. You might also be surprised at the number of people who merely lurk on the forums, and don't post, who might benefit from a current discussion. I encounter these folks all the time - face to face - plenty tell me they read, but don't post. So a thread like this may help many, not just the OP.
Getting flamed doesn't encourage people to learn - it discourages them from asking questions that might need to be asked to avoid problems. That's why this forum exists.
If one doesn't feel like responding - then don't. Leave it to somebody else.

I didn't see anything where he said he had rehomed it. I lost interest after he stated that he was a grown man and could do what he wanted.
I don't know if it was posted or not. I had an in-person conversation.
He's not the only person who ever disregarded sound advice, or didn't research first.
I see *that* every day too. Which makes my point. OP in this thread has a signature line that specifies they are new and trying to learn. It would behoove us to help with that.
