Cool little video I found, pretty interesting to see it actually happen, even though we aren't there.

when i thought of low tide, i would think maybe a couple feet of corals exposed but nothing like that.

Yeah I was surprised too. And then he actually showed how far out he was... that's a serious reef!

stuff like that is what makes me laugh when someone is removing a coral from their tank, and quickly pull it from the water, and jam it into a bag or bucket of water as fast as they can. Some of these cforals may be exposed to that sun, wind, and airs for hours. They are made to do it.

It's true, but I don't ever rush in a water change. I don't worry about it..

Nice video.

Speaking of tidal pools, did anyone who has the copy of FAMA Magazine from MACNA read the article on the tidal pool refugium? That might be cool to try with acros as well.

nice link. thats pretty cool to see something like that on such a massive scale.

that was wow. this one is wower.
watch

When I do a water change (lights out), I expose some of my acros to the air and I have been using a bit of tank water is a spritzer and spraying them every few minutes out of fear they'd dry up! They are only out fo water for a few minutes.

Guess I don't need to be doing that after watching this video. Geez!

:lol2:

I have a large barrel that I will drain almost all my water out of my 30 when I'm trying to capture a fish or remove anything from the tank. I leave just enough water in to keep the clams and the anenome covered. I have done it many times and I have had the water out for over an hour. I scrap the glass, culled yellow polyps, frag xenia, kenyas, mushrooms, etc. I do a water change at the same time.

If anyone wants to help out on a ticket to figi, I will walk through the muck and try fit all the corals in my suitcase. I bet those acros smell geat. Lol.
