Dmitri's 1000 gal DT journey!

Dmitri, it is looking beautiful. I know you have had a long journey to get to this point. Cannot wait to see it full of water.

In addition to using peroxide to oxidize residual organics, I'd suggest also giving the rock a rinse with dilute citric acid.

The citrate will solubilize phosphate bound up as calcium phosphate on the rock, & it works better than anything else on phosphate specifically.

This may help limit or eliminate prolonged leaching of phosphate from the used rock and, being an organic acid (gentler), is much less likely to rapidly dissolve significant amounts of rock.

Very nice build, btw!

Few updates:

1st. I had to redo some plumbing for skimmer and uv. I have connected both together and attached flow meter leader into skimmer.

Unfortunately I did not take into account that refugium tank water level was lower than uv filter. Next day I woke up to a flooded fishroom. About 30 gallons on the floor.
I had to build another support to raise 11 inches for refugium tank and redo som more plumbing.

Between refugium a mixing tank, sump, uv filter and skimmer, I am currently cycling about 500 gallons of water. Display tank is still empty.
My plan is to design an aquascape then fill it up with water.

At the moment, I’m trying different ideas of rock work. I will take my time with this to my full satisfaction.

This is the most fun / creative part of the build and I gotta get it right...

Some ideas so far

Tank update:
I’ve beeb working on couple of things. Still doing aquascaping work with rock. I want to make sure it looks great and plan how sticks will grow.

Another project was to pair all 17 devices to two wxm modules. I have to say process isn’t easy. I need to pair 13 Radion and 4 mp60s. I keep getting conflicts between devices.
I read about this and found out I have to unplug other devices and do one module at a time.

I do have onelink module but don’t want to use it. Once WXM set up it should all work my easier.

I will try to pair it all tonight.

Day 3 filling up the tank.
I’m thinking 2-3 more days until it’s filled up.
Water volume after rock mass taken out is about 970 us gallons in the main display tank then need to add another 75 gallons refugium, 100 gallons water changing tank about 75 gallons between skimmer and uv filter. Refugium is roughly 380 gallons filled up to the top, so I’m projecting about 200 gallons of water when operational. RODI unit makes 200 gallons every 24 hours.

Add all that up maybe 3-4 more days of making water.

What a masterpiece! All the hard work and patience are really paying off and things are coming together in an amazing way. So excited to see what you do with it all!

Fish are in !
1st round of fish about 30 in total. Few tangs / clowns/ chromes
I added 4 RANDOM FLOW GENERATORS FOR LOC-LINE and 4 CPR AQUATIC THREADED EDUCTORs

Wowa! I had no idea you had fish and water in the tank already. It has been a while since I have looked at the site. That looks GREAT Dimitri! Can't wait to see it in person!
