I have ricordea as well for the ATS yes it will destroy all the algae on there. When i was running VC powder I didnt notic anything wrong with my chaeto or my mangroves but for the save keeping i would just keep the chaeto separate from the tank your using the VC powder on just because I have seen cases where the chaeto gets destroyed by it. I'll previde a link on here for you as well as a $5 off coupon code
If you think about it when your sick what the one thing you doctor says to take? Vitamin C of course... To stay health and strong what does your doctor recommend to take daily? Vitamin C or drink a glass of orange juice which has...guess what Vitamin C! haha
So what I'm getting at is if you have issue with fish or coral looking or are unhealthy dosing Vitamin C weekly at SMALL amount then you'll notice an improvement in them or you want their color to be more viberant then look into dosing VC again weekly then you'll notice that as well. Over all Vitamin C will benefit your tank while at time it might cloud it up for a day or 2 but if your run purigen or some other water polishing media then its nothing to worry about.
When I have my algae problem I was doing 1/2 a tablespoon in the morning and at night for a good week or 2 straight. Yes my water was not crystal clean as it is now but it was because the algae was dieing off and the bacteria was growing. I currently dose 1/4 tablespoon weekly.
hey Dylan, quick question about the VC dosing. I went over your link real quick and noticed where you said it helped with melting zoas?would the lower dosage help with that??all my SPS as done great..my zoas have seemed to melt away one by one..
Its hard to keep sps and zoas together. SPS like clean water meaning 0 nitrite nitrates and so on while zoas thrive in dirty water meaning 15-25 nitrates and so on. When I say it helps zoas from.melting is zoas get a algae film on them when they aren't doing well. In the long run this algae ends up killing them. The VC breaks down that film algae on them
Not saying its impossible to keep them together but its hard to have zoas thriving and growing well while sps are growing well and maintaining their color
