saw a worm i didnt recognize today , my wrasse was very intrigued by it then i saw it poke its feather out a bit , it scurried on and diapered ?? can it find its tube again ?? or will it migrate ? or is it wrasse food now ty for any reply's
No guarantees it's a goner, but my experience was the same as Jimmy's. Just keep an eye out for the crown sticking out somewhere else...you never know.
My worm was mistakenly snatched from its tube as I was not aware the worm's foot had taken root under a rock while I was shifting things around. I also thought it was a goner. I tossed the tube & forgot about it. About two months later a new tube emerged from under that same rock, followed by new feathers. You never know...
Feathers dusters are know to leave their tubes or drop their crown due to stress or as a defence tactic. If the worm wasn't killed in the process they will make a new tube. They make their tubes out of detritus and slime they produce. Their crown will grow back in a few weeks.
Well I'll Keep an eye out , I saw the larger of the 2 out this evening so possibly it will make a neew home on a different piece of rock but I won't hold my breath Thankyou all.
