Headed out of town for a few days. My neighborhood kid - who feeds my fish while I am gone - is also on vacation. Anyone live near 285 and Riverside Drive - interested in stopping by ?

If your only leaving for a few days don't worry about it. If the fish are healthy there is no need to have anyone feed for that short amount of time.

I only make plans for getting my fish fed if it's 10+ days. Some of my fish I will comfortably go longer then that. I would not worry about it and let them graze on algae and what ever other goodies are in your tank for a few days.

I would install an old cell phone setup as an ip camera if you don't have a babysitter camera already setup. Then you can view it remotely and not stress over it.

+1 and use the at home app

I used to leave my Koi for a week and not worry but didn't know our tank fish would be ok that long without food!

I use an auto feeder. I got a extra one but I'm too far away from you.
If there is any interest, I've got the Ehiem (1/2 retail price) in perfect condition. Need to sell it now that I've got the Apex. They both work great.
Maybe next time!

Thanks - Turns out the neighbor can feed them twice - and that is plenty. Thanks for the advice and offers.

How much do you like your Apex auto feeder? I've been debating getting one for a while since I got an Apex.

Do you use it all the time or just when you're out of town? I'm wondering if it would get annoying to refill.

I use the Apex auto feeder while I'm on Vacation. It works great and holds a bunch of food. However, I recommend that you dont try to pull the cover to fill it while it's over your tank as you may end up with a tank full of pellets. I learned the hard way. :).

Thanks, that's a good tip (something I can imagine myself doing)!

If you ever need someone again, I live in the neighborhood that is by the new park on Abernathy. Less than 2 min away.
