I have a longnosed hawkfish that I would love to get to something/anything dry as I have an autofeeder that I use for one of my daily feedings that everyone eats from except the hawk. I know its a longshot to get him to eat anything dry but what would you suggest? I have some Marine Omega One flake food that he grabs but then spits out so at least he will try it already; maybe just a different flake? I have nls pellets that he completely ignores so it would probably be best to stick with flakes or something freeze dried perhaps?

In the wild, their primary diet is crustaceans. I'd say your best bet is freeze dried here.

Live foods or frozen

Live Blackworms, fortified live brine

Frozen:
Nutramar Ova and Hikari Mysis

I have used Vpure Mysis Flake food from LIFE Aquarium Foods. Fish seemed to take them quickly. My Long-nosed never would eat anything except frozen unfortunately. good luck.

I bought some bulk freeze dried mysis off ebay and he loves it! Awesomeness!

Oh cool. My bad I missed that. Mine actually eats pellets but I can tell he doesn't like them as much. Lol.

Wow that'd be awesome if he would eat pellets. He has never tried the pellets yet only tried flakes
