Cupramine or Paraguard are other possibilities...

Is that reef safe?

How are your fishes doing?

ceb125 Thanks for the offer I have a 350 canister i can hook it up I just need to take the carbon out and replace the filter. I was supposed to be done with the Ich x by friday but this new outbreak has set it back I am tempted to put them all back in the 280 and hope for the best.

I wouldn't advise returning them to your 280, esp. if you have other inhabitants (corals, invertebrates). Treating 75 QT, IMO is a better option alongside canister filtration. Just make sure to clean thoroughly, and starting with new filters is a fresh therapeutic approach.

Lowering the salinity is not necessarily hypo. Hypo application are severe and I would use extreme caution since I have never taken that route. From my experience, I have lowered mine to 1.018, almost equivalent to a fresh water dip. However, dropping the salinity drastically will do more harm so a slow and gradual reduction is what I would recommend. As for how long, the duration should be determined by fishes health.

ceb125 Hypo in the qt.
I know hypo will kill the rock sand and corals
Yes, any drastic, dramatic drop in salinity will kill inhabitants of rocks, sand and coral. You'll want a slow and steady reduction in your QT. Also, try feeding food soaked in vitamins (vitamin C is a plus) and medications. Hope you are able to save what is left...

Today the fish look a little better the purple tangs eyes ever look a little better.
My wife caught the last fish in the 280 now I just have to decide what to do next.
I continued with the water change and ich x this morning but i changed a little more and lowered the salinity a little.

Edit: Should I put the last fish in the 75 in the middle of the treatment?
I just put him in the sump until later tonght when I have more time?

Very good news, please keep it up and you'll be on your way towards recovery...

If the caught fish from 280 exhibit symptoms of sick fish in Qt, then yes I would treat it alongside together. If not, I wouldn't risk it.

Maybe trying to figure out what is going on with your DT is bigger question...

Here is a picture of the 280 before the problems and their new home the 75 QT

Edit: I am hoping no fish in the 280 for a month or two will fix that problem.
I have some fritz zyme 9 live bacteria should i pour a bottle in the QT?
