That is what a "Club" is all about. We just all happen to like fish and corals. :-)

Fido- Ive applied with Wells Fargo at least 25 times and got zero response which is kind of odd but I assume it has something to do with my working with Wachovia before they bought them

I would think Wachovia would have helped you get in, news said they were hiring for up to 80k a year depending on experience, maybe try again and persistence will pay off

Rich:

Thanks for helping. This is why I am giving you what I previously said I would give you. Thanks again for your generosity Rich.

You have a credit on file compliments of Rich, and I'll match it. I've had plenty of help over the years, and it's a good "pay it forward" opportunity. I might have a gently used refractometer too - if it's still there, I can hook you up.

Do check with Wells Fargo again - it was on the news the other day they are hiring 500 or so new people.

I should be open by 12 noon unless the weather actually happens that they're predicting. I'm out the door shortly for my Oath Ceremony.

Having a community of people that each other out, whether it's a information, a coral bank of frags for a tank crash or in this case a heater and some salt is a great thing. Don't believe me -try doing without sometime!

I am a new member and haven't really done anything for anyone on here so I would like to pay for frankenbakon's membership for 2013 so he can enjoy the discounts at lfs. rich if you will let me know how I can do this. I.e PayPal or check or whatever.

Very nice!! However, another member reached out to me last night and already committed to do the same thing. :-). He is just waiting for someone from the BoD to get back with him. What a great bunch of people we have in this clilub:-)

If Jenn doesn't have a used refractometer for you, a new one is on me. I've let Jenn know via PM. We've all had tough times, but my reef has always been there for me. Keep your head up, and good luck with the job hunt!

I really am so overwhelmed by the generosity of this club. Things have been really hard the past few months and words cant even really express what it means to me that everyone is so quick to pitch in and help someone they don't even know. I will definitely be doing what I can to pay this all foreword as soon as possible and if any of y'all need anything from me in the future don't hesitate to ask!

I am so happy to be a member (paid or not lol) of such a great club with such amazing members willing to go to "extra depths" to help a fellow reefer :-)

+1.

Wish I was closer, I'd give you a bag of salt. I have picked up a part time job at the lfs here in Montgomery, AL. Just started helping out to be around knowledgeable people, and the lfs started paying me. LOL...

After you get your salt situation straightened out, and something else comes up of this magnitude, PM me. If I can't get it from my store credit, here in Montgomery, and send it to you, I'll make a reasonable donation via paypal to JennM for you. Sometimes something as small as a bag of salt or some Seachem Prime can literally save you from a tank crash.

The folks on this forum are very supportive. I've gained significantly from their knowledge and experience (even being 180 miles away). If nothing else, they kept me patient, and provided guidance through my tank crash and 13 week fallow period...

Best of luck!!!

Thanks so much to everyone! It was great meeting you jenn! Thx for the help and advice! I will def be back and ill be paying it foreword ASAP

The pleasure was mine! Thanks to Rich for paying it forward :) Things like *this* are what it's all about - helping a fellow hobbyist out! :D

After everything the media reports, it would be assumed that this world has made a turn for the worst... but after reading this thread... I could not be more honored to be a club member... anything I can do to help out I certainly will do... not to sound corny but all these people that have helped this man in such a hard time really need a pat on the back... great job...

So thanks to Rich and Jenn again

Jenn tested my water and what I've got goin on is
Sg 1.021
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 1
Ph 8.0
Alk 5.5 meq/l
Phosphate 2.0

No calcium test cuz I don't have many corals and were gonna get my phosphates down and my ph up

I've got some phosguard and carbon running in the ac70 that's attached to my Refugium

And I added searchem ph buffer added as well

I will be back in a week or 2 to retest Jenn :-)

Again I can't say thank you enough to everyone for the advice and help

Fanken Bakon, any chance you can make it to the meeting on Tuesday night? You can pick up your ARC card then. That's right, one of our members has paid your ARC membership. :-) As soon as the person with access to the club Pay-Pal can get on line you should be upgraded to full membership. Man, we have a lot a great members in this club.

Edit:

Jenn, not many sponsors would have willingly matched it like you did. You deserve some pretty big Brownie Points as well. And lets all remember how many others chimed in with offers. It may be that not all had the opportunity yet but the thought counts.

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, the club has gone through a bit of turmoil of late. It is so nice to see everyone put that in the past and come together to help out. I hope we can continue this willingness to help others or volunteer for club functions through the entire year. We are kind of like a family, once in a while we may snap at each other and even bicker, but when the chips are down, we come together.
