Jebo WP40 Powerhead - anyone using it?

Here's a link for those of you who work on a budget with your reefs. As we are seeing more and more overseas products in this industry, sounds like some of this stuff is actually turning out to be very good and cost effective. I personally don't have any vortechs, nor do i see myself being able to afford them any time soon. But this new powerhead is certainly intriguing and a potential replacement for that.

Looked on your link and read the reviews. Who carries this product and like ddaddy ask does anyone on here uses it?

To sum it up for those that don't want to read the article, they are comparing this with Vortech MP40's. Basically, its quieter than a MP40, stronger than a MP40 and 1/4 the cost of a MP40. They are very close to getting this thing controlled via most of the big name controllers. The big question is reliability which only time will tell of that. They are also working on a smaller version called the WP25 which would be more for the 60-100 gallon tanks. Very intriguing if you ask me.

If they are anything like the rest of Jebo's products, make sure you buy a few of them to replace them when they start breaking...

Edit: Jebo has been around for a while! +10 years? The reason you haven't heard of them is because they don't make quality stuff.


Lights, heaters, tanks, powerheads, filters- bad stuff across the board.

Ha maybe thats why they are so cheap, they figure you can buy 2 or 3 of them and swap parts in and out. The reliability question is a valid one here and again, only time will tell.

I think at $85 its worth a shot. The only thing I don't like is you cannot control the power, only the wave type. How about someone buy one and if it still works in 6 months ill get one!

Customer of mine bought a used tank with an Odyssea fixture a few years ago. Flimsy junk. We replaced it in short order especially after reading about the fire hazards.

You get what you pay for.

I have no firsthand experience with this new knockoff product. Just pointing out that the manufacturer doesn't have a stellar track record, where lighting is concerned.

I did, looks as though most of those problem were pre-2007. All the posts recently are positive ones, so maybe they made a change?? I'm not suggesting this to anyone, just trying to research this company because i am very interested in the jebo wp40 pumps.

After doing some research I found they will be selling a Wp25 in two or three months for half the price. I will probably get one of those and see what happens. At a $50 price point that wouldn't break the bank if it didn't work. Also it seems there mode with the Wp40 with power at 3400gph, 1710gph, and 1130gph respectively. Also I have excellent fire insurance just in case this thing decides to go nuclear!

Comparing these to a Koralia is probably the most reasonable. If they hold up better than koralia(IMO, not a good pump) then you got a good deal.

I don't think that comparing it to a Vortech is at all reasonable. Maybe a tunze

I have been running two koralia for the past 6 months with no problems...very little noise.

ddaddy I am glad you posted this. I am in the process of setting up a 72g reef and was dreading dropping $350 - $450 for one powerhead right after purchasing all the other equipment that I need.

I am def. going get one of these and maybe in a year upgrade to a vortech.

Videos look good on youtube too.
