I try to support reef stores when possible. Its funny when you have a 40 dollar fish that dies the next day and with no pics or the fish in a bag....theres no recourse or any offer whatsoever of a discount to purchase another. I know I know.....rules are rules and if "any exceptions are made then it becomes a problem because everyone else will want that". But let's be real here....there are always exceptions. When you see the tank and health of other fish in it...its pretty obvious the tank wasn't the issue and im no rookie reefer. Again..I totally understand that a standing rule is applied for the store. It just makes me want to buy the same things elsewhere for much cheaper and not worry about supporting this one place. I make it a point to spend money everytime to support the store. No information was asked about acclimating....salinity...or anything..just shut down with no fish in bag nor pic. It was late when I got home the next day, saw it, tossed it out. This isnt to argue right or wrong...really do understand the policy and reasons for it. I guess the point is..if its not even worth asking any questions to make sure im not FOS....why is it even worth my effort to support. I will say..there are a couple AWESOME lfs I wish I was closer to.

Agreed. I just lost a nice looking scribbled anthias after 3 days because it never ventured out of the corner of the tank and subsequently appears to have starved to death. It makes it hard to take a chance and buy new fish when 50% die within the first few days or weeks.
