How hard is it to keep one of the smaller species of lionfish? I will be putting it in a 40gal with maybe on of the smaller grouper species. Thanks in andvance for all input. Mike:fish:

I had a fu-manchu years ago in a fish only tank... he was a great fish and was active under the moonlights... he was very easy to keep..

Thats what I thought...lol.....He will be in a tank with some tank mates that aer anywhere from 2 to 4 inches.

I know...when I get ready for him I am going to contact our sponsors here and see if they got one eating frozen foods and maybe some silversides.:fish:

Lion fish are pigs and easy to train to eat silversides. Just put the food in warm water to thaw. I also add a little Selcon to the water. When thawed, I use a feeder stick and wiggle it in front of them...bam!

Look at the dwarf fuzzies too for a smaller tank. And with any of the lionfish... If it fits in his mouth it's potential food... Length may not matter.
