So here is an example of what not to do in your sump. It's not horrible but not good I feel. It was my attempt at trying to grow chateo and it is a combination of me not being successful and also lazy. It ended up turning into a sort of algae reactor sort of style. I have since then fixed this. Last sat 12/14 I did a major clean up on this. I sucked all the algae out and really clean out this entire compartment. I have also since sold the Radion XR15 FW that I was using over this. (after the previous flood I bought a new one) I ended up buying a Santa Monica Rain 2 algae scrubber. I haven't set this up because I am waiting on a part I ordered from BRS to take the inlet to allow for a 1/2 tube to feed this. I plan to use a cobalt mj1200 to power this. I also have a fuge light I used awhile ago I got off of amazon a while back that I will try to use as well to still try and grow a bit of chateo. If this doesn't work I plan just to take this light offline. This is more or less a last attempt at chaeto. I have also switched reactors. I was using 2 BRS deluxe reactors but I kept having difficulty unscrewing them. Long story short they were just a pain for me to work with. So I replaced them with one MRC reactor and also the Standard AquaMaxx Fluidized Reactor. I really like both of them the MRC is slightly taller than the AquaMaxx one but both are great in their own ways. My only complaint for the MRC reactor is that the O-ring that goes on the top grove is on the lid of this. So it can be slightly tricky to get it seated just right. I did figured out a way to make this easier so this really isnt an issue other than that love it! The AquaMaxx is great as well my only issue so far out of this one is that it started leaking a bit on the threads where the pipe going in. However, after a few mins it seems to have correct it on its own. So I might just have to tighten it slightly next time I go to change out the reactor. I'll update some more pictures on the whole sump layout at another time.
