My kitchen tanks

Are you ok? Did it leave a rash or mark?
I've brushed against my nem before but nothing happened....just slimy.
The only thing that stings me in the tank is my idiot clownfish.
Wrist blistered up and burnt. Normally BTA don’t sting me or cause a reaction, but I was using the python and not paying attention to the rock work just the sand bed, and the anemone apparently thought my wrist was tasty, it wrapped its mouth around my wrist and stung the xxx out of me and now I have a nice booboo :( In the past I have had no anemone issues ever.

Wow. I've never had an anemone do anything of the sort. That's crazy!!
It was my fault since I basically had my sensitive non-gloved forearm and wrist practically in its mouth.
This episode taught me-
1. Glove up and
2. Always be aware of my surroundings in a reef tank
Anemone caused ulcerations are like jellyfish stings. Figured out manuka honey bandages help a lot.

Been looking through this thread you guys have a crazy setup
does it not get stressful having to deal with all of the apex stuff, generators, maintenance, etc. Seems like a lot to deal with!

The Apex automates testing and ATO and lighting etc. makes it much simpler to handle. Maintenance is not bad at all. Thanks for looking!

How is the Klir doing filtration wise with 2x programmed daily rolling? I picked one up on sale, and having a hard time finding someone to 3D print the bracket for the sock section. Your method sounds like it works.

That was my old system, don’t have that in my new system. While I did this it worked fine.

My accidental (because it came as an extra frag from Tidal Gardens in an order placed years ago) green pavona colony has recovered from our disasters and power outages and has started to grow again.

Is that your RODI wastewater draining into the sink?
Yes it is, with the booster on it there is very little waste water produced when running the RoDI. Not possible to run it outside due to its location so added the booster to decrease waste production. The lines are color coded- red is waste. Black is good RoDI that we use for testing and washing things in the sink.
We also can drain the main system and secondary systems and pest tank into the sink for water changes. And the dehumidifier and the overflows for the hot water system all can be drained in that sink. Whoops almost forgot that we can drain the hvac system condensation there from three levels multiple systems. So, it is an important sink. 😊

New stand framing complete for anemone lagoon addition to main system. Plywood top to be attached after leveling in place in basement by water station. Will be attached to frag tank in the Abyzz feed to power and gravity fed back into frag tank. Built so that the brute salt bin and buckets can still roll and fit in same place beside water station. Only adds an extra 32 gallons of volume to main system. But will keep the anemones off the coral and can house a few mangroves. Makes maximum use of the space we have available. Anemone tank up on stand and plumbed to main system 😁 Sand and water in, flow on and once lighting is in place, the anemones will have a new home. Will move rock and animals out of frag tank soon. Gotta remember to out that guard on the MP10. Might start a small clown harem in the tank. Since the tank is part of the main display system, no need to cycle, acclimate etc....

Started using the new boxes of HW salt- since they were out of stock for our usual TLF salt, auto-water change on all systems working great, cycling rocks for new pest tank being built.... things are getting done ✅😜9B39FD61-3DF4-417E-9179-926A6017B77B.jpeg2EC31C7E-2BFD-483C-A6AC-9A0A35F25956.jpeg74500CFF-362F-434D-99E9-AA3EE94220AE.jpeg

Purchased an AI HD26 from another reefer on ARC and installed tonight. Moved over a test RBTA and a couple of rocks. Parameters exactly the same now including temp and lighting and schedule, so hopefully the little guy will do ok. Will monitor for a few days before moving rest over.
