My kitchen tanks

How’s it looking?
Tank cleared up and is looking good. Running at slight hyposalinity so working on slowly raising it back up :). The Pentair UV works like a charm and the macroalgae is starting to grow. (Thank you Steve!) Cord management in the fishroom is a work in progress now that we added all the needed dedicated GFCI circuits- 4 separate quads were needed :). Will get some tank shots when lights ramp up. 0084E43C-702A-40FC-8A01-60E948F266AB.jpeg06841A86-36CF-412D-AA62-F43830F9DFCA.jpeg

So, my LFS stopped by to start breaking down our emergency farm trough- all the corals were moved temporarily to the display. That way we can install the frag tank and complete our system.
First time we can actually see some of our stuff in 8 months. Tank looks like a disaster, but it’s a work in progress. Also see that our jawbreaker has a couple of babies :).

1.) I honestly don't know what I am looking at but 2.) I know badass when I see it.
This is amazing. I hope for this one day.
Lol... :)
So, this is our emergency and now permanent fish room that we created when we lost half our house due to a plumbing line break. The main display is on the main level. There are approximately three 50 foot runs of pvc for two drains and one return. An Abyzz 400 powers everything, the main display, the manifold, the frag tank, the UV, and the refugium, etc.
We have a 55 gallon qt hospital tank on a separate system. The sump, refugium and ATO are by Jon of Advanced Acrylics, the tank is Planet Aquariums 187 peninsula low iron steel stand tank, the frag is Acrylic Habitats 56 gallon tank.
We have been working at rebuilding our system for the last 7 months since we lost our prior system. So, this is a work in progress. :)

1) I have really enjoyed following your progress on this (at least the build portion - the water problem, not so much!) - thank you!

2) That Abyzz is one mother of a pump - wow!!

3) Did I notice a Seneye in one of the photos? I am using one, but find that the pH measures way high. What has your experience been?

Thanks again!

So, yes we use a Seneye as well as an Apex and a Hannah checker for pH testing - little bit of an overkill, but I don’t trust any one system yet. The Seneye always measures pH high. What I look for in the Seneye is consistency rather than exactness :). Seneye right now says 8.72 pH. But Apex is at 8.24 pH and same as Hannah results. So, the correct pH is the 8.24 more than likely. But both the Seneye and Apex both show the same pattern for pH readings, so the Seneye is consistent just too high.

Pretty much exactly what I do - Hannah for the actual number, and Seneye to measure over time. I’ve tried trimming the pH, but it doesn’t seem to change in the web dashboard. I don’t trust any tests to be consistently accurate, either.

Thank you for the feedback!

The kitchen now has two tanks again thanks to the talented Tony Tran! My daughter just picked up the most beautiful acrylic tank to replace our planted tank system on our smaller stand. The workmanship is spot on, a thing of beauty! Love the tank and the media tray is perfect! We are super excited to start scaping this weekend! Looking real good. I can't wait to get going on my build. Water storage and movement is where I like to start. How are you doing the autoflush?

Apparently, the pump I bought has everything automated. Also has internal check valves. It monitors every step of the water purification process, pressures, output and input, and does auto flush of the entire system. It is the box thing under the sink with the color coded yellow, red, and blue lines.

Ok, cool. I think I've seen that product. Didn't look close enough at the last pic. How do you like it so far?

I did it with valves, and float switches connected to my Apex on the last build. Haven't made up my mind on the new one.
