So, i've been feeding my blue hippo, purple, and powder blue tang nori like a champ. I've been feeding ocean nutrition's seaweed selects products:

I've noticed that the brown seaweed gets eaten up ASAP as it hits the water. They swarm around it like its their job and nibble away at the clip. The red seaweed comes 2nd (it takes a few hours for them to go through it), then finally, the green seaweed the prefer the least. Sometimes, the green seaweed will stay on the clip for 24 hours.

So, are my tangs just spoiled for the brown nori? Should I just focus on feeding that type of nori since it seems they like it the best -- or is switching up the different types a better idea?

I kinda wish that Ocean Nutrition posted what types of algae they used for the green / brown / red. I've looked on the packaging and I haven't been able to determine the species.

Maybe its a special blend of different types of algae? Anyone know what this stuff is actually made of?

Is there a better type / brand of nori I should be using instead? Is Ocean Nutrition good stuff compared to the others?

I tried Julian Sprung's variety:

And just noticed that this stuff would dissolve in the water in a matter of minutes. The fish didn't get a chance to graze on it during the day because it would be floating around the tank. Ocean Nutrition's nori seems to stay intact on the clip for hours until it gets nibbled up, so i've been focusing on that.

Oh, btw, I also stick a few cubes of Formula 2's frozen cubes in mashed between the black grate and on a clip as well

They probably will munch on the Formula 2 first, then brown --> red --> green algae's in that order.

A large bag of Nori is available at the Asian farmers market for a fraction of what the others cost. I think a bag is around $7
