That's what you want....

Yes Ralph those are the ones we want or even the vibex. However, in the links above the authors warn about sellers that offer Illynassa Obsoleta or Nassarius Obsoleta (the same) which are bad for reef aquaria. One of the authors even points out that In many parts of the country they are running out native species. Just thought I'd share.

This is generally an issue with eBay sellers. Over the years, there have been scores of threads that I can recall @ getting whelks instead of nassarius from eBay..the purchaser only finding out when it's too late and they're in the tank. Buying from LA or other reputabale source (sponsor) is your best bet.

how about this guy, are they ok ?

Wouldn't have to worry about Illynassa for too long....temp would take care of it.

Hey Bubbles,

The second one on your original post. I was using them as a detritus machine in sump.. They worked GREAT... Only issue with that was when 1 died, it let out the WORSTE chemical warfare ever. Nucked my tank.... Guess I learned my lesson!

I love the giant tonga nassarius. Down to just 2 but had 8 for a while. As soon as a pellet hit bottom the zombie hordes rose up in a pack. Really cool!
