Now that I have the Euro-Reef 135 (bought new and washed in vinegar-RO/DI bath) settled down and no longer overflowing
, I'm just curious as to how long I should give it before I should expect results. This in on a newly setup 93 gallon where I broke down 3 existing smaller reefs into 1. Obvisouly everything was good and cured but I took extreme care in cleaning the rock and any reused sand rediculously well so no existing detrius, etc. transferred. I have to be careful with my skimmer water level right now so I don't want to raise it. After I first got it settled down it produced about a 1/4 cup of wet skimmate so I dropped the level down a bit more. The tank is probably 75% or more fresh saltwater and everything is really clean so I expect there to be little suspended in the water column for the skimmer to pull. As it sits now, has a good steady bubble column but hasn't started really producing foam. Should I just let it be for a couple of weeks and not concern myself with what it's actually collecting?
On another note it's amazing to see the change in my SPS polyp extension in this fresh clean water. My softies aren't quite as pleased
