I'll be happy to help.

You're absolutely correct. I worded that poorly. 30amp would be more of a service extension. Should've finished my morning coffee...

Epoxy floor and base rail in. Waiting for floor to completely cure before caulking floor seams.

All the switches and outlets are done. Can lights and main strip lights in. Got my monster skimmer, 2.5L reactor, sink utility pump, 2 reef low hammerheads and one extra for backup.
Once I caulk the floor tomorrow I'll start loading stuff in the room. Stands being built on September 9th. Probably place my order for about 700 pounds of dry rock in the next few days. Need to start drawing out piping so I can order valves and such. Starting to get down to the nitty gritty details!

Electrical and lights completely finished! Tested all outlets and circuits at each outlet to make sure it trips gfci for that circuit.
Floor freshly caulked at seams too! I'll definitely never get a job caulking but it's sealed and done. Just have to stand back, turn down the lights, and squint a little and the caulk job looks amazing. Might help to be underwater also hehe.

Well we worked from 9 this morning till almost 9 tonight but the stand is finally done!!!! I'll skin it later and add drawers in the front. Also a canopy up to the ceiling. I'm totally exhausted!
Here's a bunch of intermediate pics. Ended up making the whole thing out of 2x6's. It's a total rock solid stand. It's designed at 550 pounds per square foot loading with L/720 or better stiffness. I really expect zero flex but I'll measure the beam heights and see if anything budges when it's filled and adjust if need be. I really don't think I'll see even 1/16" sag anywhere. There's around 230' of 2x6's in the stand with 3/4" plywood on top. All seams in the plywood are also braced.
I ordered 1000 pounds of dry rock Monday along with a metric ton of sand and salt. I feel bad for the fed ex guy.

View from the backside. I can slide a 61" x 33" sump in there. Clearance is 27" floor to bottom of beam.

Sand and salt arrived today! 9 boxes of salt and 10 sand. They don't pack the sand boxes all that well lol. Looks like they were dropped from a plane onto my driveway hehe. Labor Day sales ftw!

No kidding! I'm pretty irritated at the tank manufacturer right now. I was quoted 6 to 8 weeks lead time but it's been 12 now and I still don't know when he's going to make it. I pretty much wake up every morning thinking about it and go to bed every night thinking about it so I'm off the scale irritated about it right now.

It could be a problem down stream from the manufacturer, but he should do a better job of communicating that to you.

Okay finally things are moving again. Got the sink all plumbed up and its working well with the utility sink pump.
Since I decided to move the sump out from underneath the stand I'm putting additional leg supports where the span used to be.

Rock came today! 1,000+ pounds. Put a hurtin' on the wife's truck. I'm exhausted, had to move it 3 times to get from the truck to the basement! It's hard to get the scale from the picture but it's a lot of rock to play with for my aqua scape.
Oh, also, tank is supposed to be done in 2 weeks!

Sorry man but I hate to be the one to say this, but I don't think you have enough rock.

Hehe. I tried to put my thermos there for scale but it looks like something out of Star Wars. Now I have to start brainstorming on the flow and aqua scape. Probably need to do a little research on which fiber glass rods I can use and cement. I have some Marco rocks cement but it's a couple years old and not enough for this project.

Outdrsyguy - I think you are single-handedly adjusting the supply and demand curve. You're not going to make many friends here when Reef prices increase 10% across the board!!!! ;-)

Just a recommendation. But I noticed the two 55 gallon drums for the water change system. Is that going to be the only water storage system you have?

If so, id recommend rethinking that. For your size tank, I would have a min of two 400 gallon containers.... Putting that much money into a tank, if something major every happened, you will be wishing you had more fresh made up RO water on hand to do a major water change.

I have a 300 gallon, and have two 250 gallon containers, one for RO, the other for Salt...RO is always toped off..just incase something happens.

again, just a sugestion
