has any one used publix or walmart ro water to set up their reef tanks..if so where there any dissolved solids in it?

A good many years ago, I used Publix and water was decent....around 10 if I remover correctly.

THe quality of the water would be completely dependent on the store purchased from. You really should buy an inexpensive portable TDS meter to verify water quality prior to spending money on the water. They are not expensive on ebay. Mine is over 5 years old, and still works great.

I used walmart water for my first year but got sick of hauling it and bought an RODI. In general you should be fine, but as mentioned, you are at the mercy of whenever the filters were changed last.

I used it for the first 5 years in the hobby. Always worked great. You can buy a cheap hand held Tds tester off eBay to double check.

+1 before they moved to the newer location the Publix by 400 off Holcomb bridge was never maintained an had pretty bad water. Test it, if good and the method works for you then go for it.
