Hey guys got a fish coming to a friends house in morning and they dont have a qt tank set up yet, its a large regal with a bit of ich on him already its being beat up by a yellow in its current home. tell me if this is a good idea, i am trying to set up a quick qt tank asap wat i am going to do is a 10 gal water change on one of my tanks and a 5 gal on the other, and a bag of bio media from one of my tanks and a few pounds of lr from the tanks. the water from the change will be placed in a 15 gal rubbermaid when i arrive at thier house in the morning. Along with a cheap hang on back filter from walmart which the bio media will be placed, and a small korilia. So using the water and media from my tanks to set one up in morning, is this going to be ok.... the fish should be there around id say 12 i will have the qt set up around 9.

Would it be best to use complete new water? would that not that start a mini cycle with the bio media and rock? Remember i dont have but like 4 hours tops for this to be set up and stable, this was a last minute operation since the fish was being bullied in his old home.

Water contains a neglectable amount of bacteria - "fresh" saltwater will be better, no contaminants.

hmmm okay so placing rocks from my tank into brand new water will not cause any type of die off on the rock?

Edit: AS ODD AS THIS SOUNDS SHOULD I ACCLIMATE THE ROCK LOL :p

Brandnew as in mixed the last 5minutes?
Will be caustic for the first few hours...

Other than that - no issue, and no - no need to acclimate rocks

making and mixing it now will be transporting water there tomorow morning as it mixes all night. Ok i will do that i may use 5 gal worth of old water since its already here since i changed water out today on 65. Unless you think i should use all new water in which case i will.

Can i use para guard by sea chem in the qt tank with live rock or should the rock be removed?? need answer asap i have tried googleing it and cant find this answer.
