I'm right there with you on that my brother, I guess you and I will just build it and let others photograph it .

i prefer that route anyway.i like looking at pictures lol, taking them...not so much.

Darren,i also noticed my rainbow acans turned red.just before my copperband ate them all

I have an AI SOL Blue that is about 10-12 months old. The color has been "good" but my sps lost most of its color (they all turned blue) and my nice rainbow acans turned red or orange. I just received the ATI LED / T5 combo (I sold a kidney) and can not wait to get it going. Also growth under the AI SOL was marginal except for chalices. They seemed to like it...
No worries, Darren I appreciate your input very much. I considered the ATI combo but I could not spare the kidney lol. I think that is the fixture MVM is running as well. Can't wait to see your results.

Hi David , I haven't posted on this site since the last thread I started awhile back basicly asking if other long term leds users were seeing the loss of color in there SPS coral as I was. It seems all I got was blasted by a bunch of led users who really didn't know the diffence or could see it . What I can tell you from my experence is Leds can produce good colors but none of the store bought models that I have seen. My current light is four 80watt T5s and a 144 3watt led emitters, I have a mix of 405nm, 430nm, 450nm, 460nm, 475nm, 495nm, 530nm, 660nm and coolwhites T5 bulbs are ATI super antic, blue+ and coral pros. The t5s have really helped with larger corals which all had white under branching from light starvation IMO as I don't feel the under side of corals where getting reflective lighting that MH and T5s produce. If some one was just starting a new system and ask me what my opion was on best lighting for sps I would say for a store bought fixture to go with T5s and for DIY to build a full spectum led, T5 mix

my piece of the reef thanks Guerry
