So Ive had an established 20g reef tank for three months (I know, kinda early for corals, but they're doing fine so whatever. lol) And yes, I am a beginner but my boyfriend has been doing this for two years so he's helping me a LOT. I've had a black clownfish in my tank for about two months and last month I recently added a royal gramma. Both are getting along great and now I'm ready to add a third.:D

So any suggestions as to a bright color (easy temperament) fish thats very social, reef safe, and can swim in a 20gallon?
:D THANKS!!

Sounds great! I like gobies but they usually just stay at the bottom of the tank and I want a free swimmer

Any other suggestions?

maybe a fire fish or a purple one. i have two fire fish and they are always front and center and never make a fuss with anyone..

Wow........I've had a firefish for 3 months and he heads for his bolthole the second anyone approaches the tank. I never see the fish unless he's eating and I watch where he can't see me. Even food won't keep him out if he sees us.

yes they were like that at 1st also. now i can walk right up to the tank and they never go anywhere. untill i start to use the mag float lol then they take off to home lol..

Mine lonely firefish is front and center every morning and i see him ALL day long. He is my little dude for now... might sell him but that'll come in the future.

He's getting better when he sees me, but when Hubby or my daughter go near the tank, he's gone!

Lawnmower Blenny. I never really wanted one until Petco mis-priced one for $7.99. He does a good job keeping the sand stirred and is one of the most personable fish I have seen. I just bought a Royal Gramma last week. They are beautiful fish.

2 or 3 purple firefish. Filament Flasher wrasse would do well as would a Yellow coris wrasse.

he will warm up to you then them. i have my girlfriend feed some times and they are getting used to her...

We'got a lawnmwer in the 72. Biggest character in the tank. He's got his sleeping hle dug under a rock but comes out a lot, several times a day, front and center and almost stands upright to say hello. He does take care of algae and has gotten a beer (I mean algae belly) on him. He is really not a fish but a sausage with fins. LOL
Great fish gets along with every body.

I have a yellow wrasse and he is front and center all the time..I also have a neon goby that is front and center all the time and both came from Fishscales

wow, all great suggestions!!
i love the color of the firefish and fishscales ROCKS!
:D
but i've heard that firefish tend to hide a lot, and i dont really want a blenny or a goby because they usually stick to the sand.

i want a free swimmer!

My firefish are all over the tank. They will hide in the rocks at first until they get comfortable.

What about a cinnamon clown? I heard they were a bit aggressive but I've seen one that wasn't so much.

??!!
