Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on making a frag rack? I can’t believe how expensive they are for such a simple thing, and I know there’s gotta be a simple way to make shift one but I’m still learning what materials can and can’t go in the tank without degrading or being a hazard if it breaks down. If anyone has figured out a cheap way to do it please let me know! My emerald crabs are total asses and wreak havoc on anything I settle into the sand or leave not attached to the rockscape.

Very crude ones can be fashioned with the plastic egg crate sheets. You can use a pvc pipe with notches cut into them to lift it off the sand bed, or just use other pieces of the egg crate.

You could also ask around here, plenty of people have printers these days and could probably make something for a much more reasonable cost.

I 3D printed some arms that clip on the sides of my frag tank and hold 2 rows of egg crate. Easy to replace or change the length, and no magnets in the tank.

I’ve been building my own for sometime now. Pretty simple and all you need is some egg crate light diffuser, scrap acrylic and some magnets from this website.https://www.apexmagnets.com/magnets/plastic-speciality-coatings?p=3

You can pick up magnets from 2 to 3 dollars each.

The rag rack for about $12. Holds 18 frags comfortably.

And this one for less than 18. Holds 40 frags comfortably.
