RTN - is that it?

Just wondering if an SPS had RTN and it was all but a white skeleton in 48 hours, is that coral dead for good? Or can the tissue regenerate at a later date? Logically I say to myself no because I'm staring at a skeleton, but I'm just here to know for sure, as I did read some posts around the web where reefers claimed the tissue grew back..

I had an acro fall on my birdsnest and I was outta town for 2 days. A few "limbs" were totally dead. They have not grown back.
