Sad day for me.

Do you have one of these in your tank. Might be the problem. :)

My guess is either a severe drop in ph and/or O2 levels that stressed them out and ultimately killed them. The pathogen theory is also extremely viable. Have you checked all your submersible electrical units(heaters, power heads, etc) for any bare wires? Hope you discover what may have been the potential cause before transferring everything to a new set up. You could be taking the problem right along with you to the new set up.

I been check every single thing in my tank for the last couple day. All looking good . I been do WC 2 time already and will keep doing that for awhile. I won't add any fish in there after christmas time.

Unless you're testing for O2 levels, that's a variable that may have changed (ie power failure etc) and resolved before you came home to find the tank-o-death.

Previously I asked if you'd *had* a power failure (you didn't answer) and I also asked if you'd checked your battery back ups because some of the older ones have been known to fail.

OR if there was a cleaning lady or exterminator in the house on the day in question.

I think in alot of these cases a rapid change in PH can be a real killer.
I would think if I added anything to the water, or changed something about the room it's self. It just turned cold, did you start using some different kind of heat for the room? Is the room closed off perhaps?
I would keep check on my ph swings for a whole day or 2 to rule that out.

Good luck and don't give up.

Edit: ammonia is the other thing that comes to mind as someone has mentioned. Normally it takes out the large fish and sometimes spares the smaller ones. Did the dead fish have redness around gills/mouth/eyes?

Hope this helps.
