So tell me about Tangs!

what is the most aggressive tang i was pondering if a tang could hold his own with a snowflake eel and Saddle Valentini Puffer

Hard to tell what the most agressive is. It's going to depend on each fish's personality. I wouldn't worry about an eel or puffer with a tang. Just make sure you don't get a baby tang and you should be fine.

Hi,
I have never ran a UV on my tank and I have kept tangs for many years.
I never had a problem with ich but the most common problem with tangs is HILLE, Head and Lateral Line Erosion.
Many tangs succumb to this and a proper guard IMO is a healthy vegetable diet daily (nori/seaweed, lettuce), and plenty of vitamin enriched food (Vitamin C a plus - Selcon, VitaChem or sprirunalia based food), along with good water quality.
As far as what type of tang - being a shoaling species, they get very territorial when they become bigger with their size. Hence, keeping in mind their potential size will save you from upgrading to a bigger tank later on...
i.e. I think any tang would be a model citizen with an eel and Valentini puffer, and starting out with a yellow tang is +1.

We do not run a UV. Our D tank is a 210 with a 60 frag and also a sump tied together..
Tangs in the 210 are a PB, Yellow and sailfin. In the 60 frag a Purple and yellow. We have had ick before, and from what we learned every tank has ick. Its most likely stress that make it breakout. Put the Tang in at the same time and leave them alone.
We do run a 40 gallon quarintine (how ever you spell it) tank for about 6 or 8 week before we and to our system.

WE do not run any copper. We tried it but found that it was not good for some of the fish long term.

I'd only run copper if you see a reason to. Everyone has their own theory, but the fact is that copper is a heavy metal and toxic to fish and invertebrates. The idea behind copper is that you need to poison the water enough to kill the parasite, but not so much that you kill the fish, which I have done, and have seen others do. My wife still resents me for the death of a certain fish due to copper mishap.
Certain types of copper are more safe than others.
