Solid Vodka dosing pellets.

I guess we should just do one thread and post our results on it.

Agree. Would be better to consolidate into one thread. I will PM ya when it arrives.

I am now using NP Biopellets in upflow Media Reactor

My goal - eliminate some light hair algae, already have stable zero nitrates

Problem - I think I have phosphates leaching from substate and sand as Phos tests low...just a theory.

(Note - Also running Phosban in Phosban 150 reactor)

2 week update (reportedly takes two months to fully establish)

- Slight improvement in color of some SPS since start

- no negative effects

I thought I may see more of a Ph swing, but glad to report that I have not.

My trates were stable zero on salifert that I hardly even tested anymore....tested today for the first time in two weeks - still 0.

I ran out of my Phos kit, but it was consistently low prior to adding.

I really was baffled on the HA issue with params being consistent. I jumped on the photo period reduction and reduced feeding bandwagon, but that did not help and my SPS sid not like that at all......so, I am running a strong photo period again.

I am hopeful that I can maintain a nuisance algae free tank with increased feeding and long photo period with this bacteria driven method - time will tell........

Some early adopters of the NP Biopellets claim to have accomplished said goal.

My hair algae are little tufts here and there - not out of control at all, but like all of us I am striving for a really clean look and balanced system - we will see.

Did you feed the biopellets with anything (Prodibio, etc)?

100% Hair - do not have Bryopsis at the moment.

Yes, Brightwell MicroBacter7.

Started using it here right after it became available.
I am going to start a new thread in a few days about it.
My goal is to do weekly water testing and post any changes.
My system is fairly new and lightly stocked, so it will be interesting to see the results as I keep adding live stock.

Excellent! Look forward to following....

I have been running these pellets for a few weeks now and have noticed some improved color in my SPS, especially Acros. Growth is also good.

I have also been dosing MB7, but I am going to stop this week.

I have pretty high flow through the pellets so they all gently tumble. Water is very clear. My nitrates were steady zero before using the pellets and this continues.....

I am looking forward to having used these for a couple of months or so and will post more feedback at that time.
