I dont think so. You sad you MH lights are only 6" from the water. Put your hand under the light for a few seconds and you will see just how much heat those lights are putting out. Now just imagine what 5 and a half hours of that is doing to the water. I wuuld recoment putting a fan or 2 to blow across the top of the water to help puch that heat from the lights away. This is the fan I use. I have 2 of them. They can be a little noisy but they move more air then any other fan I know. I have 2 of these hooked to my RKE and they come on when my temp hits 80*.

I link the 2 fans together with this also so it minimizes the amount of useable electrical sockets I use.
