egg crate.... should need no more then 4 sq feet

1" pvc should do it, and matching bulkheads...are you going to drill your tank, or just throw an overflow on it?

well i need the bulkheads bc how i am going to do it i have to use 2 10gal tubs and put them on each end of the stand and run pvc pipe from one to the other thats why i need them

uniseals would work better on the rubbermaids.

I would go larger than 1" if you have the room. If a snail were to get in, it won't get stuck in a 1.5" pipe, but it will in a 1" pipe. That's IF you have room.

Or, go with multiple 1" tubes. So if one get's blocked, the others are still flowing.
