I bought a waterbox 220.6 and they shipped with a damage sump, I filed a claim they send me a second one and it is damage again. Now they ask me to keep it and they will compensate for it, they have not said how much or with what. What are your thoughts

This is the second sump they send me, the first one is in the back with less damage. I will do water test today.

Being glass and not to bad I would silicon the corner well and let it set for 24 hours and water test it. I think it will be ok

Phi, can we provide some form of compensation to keep one of these sumps as is? Neither look to be of a structural issue.

Shipping of sumps is very risky and they do not come to us crated like the aquariums which makes them more susceptible to damage during transit.

Thank you

We pay premium for these tank and now I have to take it with a damage sump and scare they may leaks. I really don’t know what to do at this point.

I totally understand. Hope they can get it worked out for you.

I can’t tell you what you should do with this situation but if this is a problem for them and they know it they should repackage them before shipping to the end user. Trigger Systems has sent me a sump and ATO reservoir and they use thick pieces of foam all over their boxes. Water box should do the same to protect the product.

Can you imagine buying a new Radion and paying that kind of price and finding a big ass ding in the corner and Ecotech or the retailer’s response being “it doesn’t affect performance.” NOPE
Agreed. New should be new unless you agreed to pay less for a damaged item which he did not. It isn’t the consumer’s problem that the item wasn’t packed properly for the trip. If you, as a company, know that your item doesn’t withstand shipping well due to its fragility it is your responsibility to make sure it is packaged properly to make it to the destination intact.

Thank you guys, I will ask them to send me a new one again, I will keep you guys updates
Just tell them that you paid full price and wanted something new not something to make due with. Tell them you would like it repackaged at their facility before they ship it to you since they identified that as the problem. They should fix it imo

They seem to acknowledge the problem and offer compensation. I would ask for full reimbursement. Then its up to you to try the damaged sump or order from another manufacturer that takes better care during shipping. In my opinion, if you ask for another, you are most likely not going to get a different result.

I agree but is waterbox an AIO system? Or is their sump separate and under the cabinet? I’m extremely happy with my Trigger Systems sump.

Waterbox probably has a AIO but his is more than likely a whole tank sump and stand setup.
