This is a no judgement zone - showboating encouraged. And include photos.

Here are my top 3:
1. $200 Dragon soul (1 head)
2. $100 Gold tipped Elegance (died)
3. $85 Black widow goniopora (size of a quarter)

I'm still a newb but I'd like to see what some of the veterans on this board have.

Do you love it?
I'm not sure how I feel on the short tentacle gonis. I've seen them but haven't tried one out yet.

It’s hard to value corals; the prices fluctuate often, and you can frequently find great deals that aren’t necessarily sales or special pricing. Also, most expensive corals aren’t too bad if you get a tiny frag.

I have several large sunburst BTA. We would frequently sell these at my LFS in Chicago for $1400-1600 each (and a couple super small ones for $700-900). Unfortunately, it’s quite common when people mix sunbursts with other anemone varieties, the sunburst will die within hours. And we unfortunately witnessed this dozens of times... it’s a shame. Anyways, I got one through a trade and after it’s second split, I had no-where else to put the baby, except in a tank with my rainbow BTA. Low and behold, it didn’t die. Apparently mine do fine together, and I’ve had them mixed for years now. I love it! They’re beautiful, but I do expect the price to come down over the next several years.

I also have a Cruz Arias Leng Sy monti. Most veterans don’t like Monti’s as they grow too fast (myself included). But I’ll make exception for this one and maybe 1-2 others (such as Setosa which doesn’t grow too fast). While many monti’s under the name Leng Sy sell for ~$40 per frag, the Cruz Arias is the authentic/original and sells for $425 per inch. Ouch! However, I expect the price to come down to $100 or so within the next year or two, so that’s what I usually sell them for. In my opinion, $400 is way too much for a Monti.

Then, there are a bunch of cornbred corals, a few Acros, a beautiful favia, and a platygyra (my personal favorite and profile pic), some nice Palys, and bounce mushrooms. Most of my nice corals, I’ve gotten through trading. The hard part is finding people that are willing to trade.

One coral that I’d love to have sometime is a Tie Dye jawbreaker mushroom. Maybe someday I’ll find the right one.

I got a big 8 inch piece that was sold to me as arias leng sy and some say its not and some say it is

Ah. Now I understand Andrews first post....by expensive I meant what you paid, not the current estimated market value.
My bad guys, lol

FWIW,
Leng Sy was an ARC guest speaker some years ago. I was his host and he told me that he didn't even have any of his namesake monti, due to a system crash.
My understanding is that there apparently weren't many sources left of the original, and Cruz Arias was one lucky guy!

Looks like it checks all the boxes but ?

It could be legit. But given that JF isn’t claiming it as the Cruz Arias lineage, I’d be more inclined to believe this is the ~$40 ‘Green cap purple rim’ Monti that was renamed as the original Leng Sy after they thought all of them were dead. The price being the same ($40 = ~$40) really just supports this idea.

That said; I’m not Jason Fox and don’t know for certain where he sourced this from (mine came from Cruz). I wouldn’t mind seeing it in person, letting the frag grow out, and compare the colonies. For me, the value is more in the appearance than the name.

I personally think the leng sy is just a typical green monti. As for it is the ugliest monti I got. My piece came from a arc member. And its literally 8x8 its big. But for whatever reason has a beautiful name. But every monti I've seen looks better

Haha, yours is legit Chuck. You got it from me right after I moved here, remember.

As for it being the ugliest; if it’s in low light, it becomes a extremely dull brown-green and loses its thick purple rim. While my photo skills are crap, I’ve included close-ups in the same light, position, camera, etc... of 1) healthy Leng Sy, 2) light-deprived Leng Sy, and 3) Grafted Cap (because it’s the only other green cap I have, and you can see just how crap my photography is. Lol)

Also, not sure what lights you have, but I’ve noticed the color is much less vibrant under Radions compared to Orbit Marines, SB Reefs, or T5s... just FYI for placement. In good light, it is definitely a flourescent Aquamarine than green. And my photos are terrible, I know.

In poor light, I wouldn’t be surprised if anybody threw it out thinking it was a low color monti cap.
