When is a coral dead?

Through an unfortunate (my wife would argue stupid) chain of events I am now 'blessed' with a broken arm (different story for the Lounge at some point). I was due for a water change in my tank when all of this happened and it ended up being neglected for an additional 5 days.

Anyway, everything seems fine except for my green/yellow birdsnest which totally bleached. I assume this means that it died, but is that true? Can it be revived? If so what can I do?

Thanks

Sorry about the broken arm :(

A coral shouldn't die if you're late with a water change (ask those who never/rarely do water changes). More important at this point to test the water to see what might be going on and what steps you need to take to correct any issue.

Having said that - is the coral bleached (lost colour/pale) and still polyping up, or is it dead (no polyps, no live tissue, just dead skeleton).

If it's the former, it might be nursed back to health. If it's the latter, well to quote Bones McCoy, "It's dead, Jim."

Not positive if there are still polyps but I think, No.

Stinks, I really liked that coral coloration.

Got a picture? It might help... (macro shot would be best, if possible).

Birdsnest are verrrry tempermental for some reason. If Tim called them DOA then I am sure they are.
