275 gallon system. 180 gallon DT, 55g refug, 40g sump

Hit some hiccups today. I hooked the the return pump up to test my fittings and see if it would pump water outside like i had planned for my water changes. Turns out i need to put in an extra valve to divert all flow to my waste line.

I also had some leaks around my bulkheads so im working on that as well. I expected to have a few kinks to workout but the location of the bulkheads is a pain.

I put in a spray bar inside the saltwater tank and built a little pvc stand to raise the protein skimmer in my sump.

Just used some extra fittings and pvc. I will drill some holes in it so it sinks and put a dab of silicone on the feet to help with vibrations

Ha it may have been overkill. I actually changed it and slimmed it down but i stood on it and it held 185 lbs OK. Buy haven't had it in water yet. I was letting the silicone feet dry. I'll do it this afternoon.

Going to attempt aquascaping too. Not sure how that's going to go.

Got started on the scape yesterday. Well my girlfriend actually did most of everything while i went to see the new Star wars. She has done an awesome job!

we will probably chisel out a tunnel in the large rock on the left.

I think you have wore money in pvc than tank though!

My girlfriend wanted it to look pretty. Well so did I haha. I plan on showing off my sump room just as much as everything else

Adding sand tonight and getting my light fixture ready. stuff seems to be moving along pretty quickly now.

Any recomendations on what to use to black out the back and sides of the tank? I would like something I can remove and replace easily.

Water is in. I think we added to much sand. We need to spread it evenly still but we couldn't see with all the cloudiness at first. I should have just placed sand in first.

I was test the water height in the display and had some runoff in the emergency overflow that works really well. But it seems I may have a little leak in the pvc liner I placed under the sump and refug. I'll probably empty and move the sump and fug so I can find out what's going on.

Got carbon filter going and it's definitely cleared up the water.
