275 gallon system. 180 gallon DT, 55g refug, 40g sump

So will any o-ring work? I was trying to find just a replacement from the site but I'm not even sure if RO has an official site. I bought it used so I don't have a manual.

Super Reef Octopus SRO-5000SSS 10” Space Saver Protein Skimmer

that's my skimmer. ill get downstairs and pull the o-ring out and get a diameter and try and find my callipers to get a thickness.

I keep my bubbles right where my collection cup attaches to my skimmer. The skimmate builds up from there over the top of the cup into the collection area. If I were you, i'd start by adjusting the skimmer bubbles to be breaking about even with that air silencer. Check it after a day or two and adjust up or down based on the color of whats in your collection cup. If the water is lighter colored and you want to skim heavier, raise the bubble level.

Here is that o-ring you need:

Awesome thanks. I'll try that. I did see that one but of course they're out of stock

Have you looked at ACE hardware for the O-RING? They have quite a few options. they may have something that will work.

Pods or baby snails or something different. Not sure if it's pods because none have been added yet.

looks like pods - they can appear from any number of sources and if they don't have a predator in the tank, they will thrive. You're seeing them on the glass because that's where the food is (algae).

Have you added anything to the tank that was alive? Rock, coral, sand? anything that was alive would have pods in it.
