It is time to order more supplements for the 150. I liked using the seachem aquavitro line but seems a little expensive, went to Kent tech ca&b. Its okay. Thinking of trying Brighwell. I like simple. What you guys use and thoughts please? It is a mixed reef, sps, lps, and some softies.

I quit dosing about 4 months ago and my tank has never looked better, really. I just up my water changes. Granted, I do not keep a ton of SPS.

I have been trying different salts as well. I have been using reef crystals, tried salinity, liked it but a little costly. Trying Brightwell neo salt now. It seem to lack on the p.h. side. I seem to keep about 8.1 where using the rc, it averaged 8.4. I havn't used it long enough to tell anything else just yet. RC seemed to lack on the calcium side of things. What you using Tex?

If you are dosing alk and ca, I recommend BRS 2 part. By far the most economical and lasts a long time.

I use Seachem Reef Salt right now and have been since I stopped dosing. I'm a little low on pH sometimes though. The controller says 8.21.

for what its worth.... my philosophy is KEEP THINGS SIMPLE. I do dose Alk and CA of course....

I have been doing zeovit which is additive city, but I may even stop THAT soon.

Get a greats salt mix... keep up with water changes... dose alk and ca and you should be just fine for most anything you want to do in this hobby.

then again.... what do i know ? haha

With Reef Salt the alk on my new water was never higher than 2 meq/l without dosing. I chased alk in my tank CONSTANTLY until I went to Salinity.

I use BRS two part for Ca, Alk, and Mg. Previously I was using Seachem Aquavitro. When I swithed to BRS I found that my Mg was way off. I had never tested or dosed for Mg before. My coraline growth has exploded since getting the Mg straightened out. It also makes it easier to maintain Ca and Alk. I am also pretty happy with Reef Crystals salt.
